CYLAND is proud to share that longtime CYFEST participant, collaborator, and friend Gustavo Matamoros is featured on the newly released Soundologia Anthology Volume 3 — a landmark edition that also includes works by fellow CYFEST artists Richard Garet and José Hernández Sánchez.

Soundologia Records proudly announces the release of Soundologia Anthology Volume 3: South Florida Contemporary Composers & Sound Artists — the label’s most ambitious and comprehensive edition to date. Spanning two CDs and featuring works by 17 composers and more than 35 performers, Volume 3 continues Soundologia’s mission to document and celebrate South Florida’s vibrant experimental and contemporary music scene.
Premiered at the Soundologia Anthology Festival on September 26 at The Bridge Miami, during the Subtropics Marathon weekend, the double CD now expands online with the digital edition and free booklet, released October 20, 2025. The festival premiered the CD through live performances by many of the featured artists across two programs, echoing the edition’s themes — Acoustic Anthology and Electric Anthology.
The anthology’s double-CD format presents a sweeping portrait of the region’s sonic diversity — from electroacoustic solos and immersive soundscapes to theatrical rituals and large-ensemble works. Curated and produced by musicologist and audio engineer Pedja Kovačević, Volume 3 captures the creative pulse of South Florida’s composers, sound artists, and performers, embodying their risk-taking spirit, stylistic breadth, and collaborative energy.
Soundologia Anthology – Volume 3: South Florida Contemporary Composers & Sound Artists gathers both new and archival works by composers, performers, and sound artists connected to South Florida’s scene. Across two discs, it showcases a wide range of contemporary and experimental genres — from electroacoustic innovation and instrumental writing for acoustic instruments (with or without electronics) to experimental jazz, electronic music, and collaborative performance.
CD 1: Charles Norman Mason, Federico Bonacossa, Orlando Jacinto Garcia, Daniel Estrada, Dorothy Hindman, Jacob David Sudol, Russ Spiegel, and Atomic Theatre. CD 2: Richard Garet, Gustavo Matamoros, José Hernández Sánchez, Juraj Kojš, Jose Veliz, Night Foundation, Eden Grey, Rafa, and Fsik Huvnx.
“The Soundologia Anthology project was born out of a desire to document the sound of our community,” said Kovačević. “It’s not just an archive — it’s a living conversation among artists who define South Florida’s sonic identity through experimentation, collaboration, and diversity of expression. Volume 3, in particular, reflects a decade of connections, performances, and friendships that have shaped this musical landscape. It’s a record of who we are — and an invitation for others to listen in.”
The digital edition and online booklet, designed by Dimitry Saïd Chamy, are now available on Bandcamp alongside the double CD and Soundologia merchandise, including T-shirts, posters, and coasters. The booklet features detailed composition notes by Pedja Kovačević, founder of Soundologia and curator of the Anthology series.
