CYLAND MediaArtLab joins Armenia Engineering Week 2026 with Art :: Tech, a special presentation developed in collaboration with Engineering City and bringing together artistic experimentation, engineering, robotics, and media technologies.
Taking place October 2–4 in Yerevan and Vanadzor, Armenia Engineering Week 2026 marks the tenth edition of Armenia’s leading annual engineering event. Organized by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) and the Engineering Association in cooperation with public, private, and international partners, the program brings together engineers, researchers, students, technology companies, and industry professionals.
This year’s theme, “Physical AI: Engineering Intelligence for the Real World,” focuses on the transition of artificial intelligence from digital environments into physical systems. The program encompasses automotive and aerospace engineering, semiconductors, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, biomedical engineering, and smart manufacturing, alongside an exhibition of technologies and products developed by Armenian companies.
As part of the program at Engineering City, Art :: Tech introduces the collaborative project ObsessiveObservation, developed at the intersection of artistic practice and media engineering.

We live among countless machines, as if among myriad reflections of our own ideas and their continuous embodiment. And if thought is evidence of our being alive, how does that thought affirm life itself?
The collaborative project from the ObsessiveObservation series emerges from the artistic experiments of media engineers and artists and is conceived as a living environment. It makes room for everything that so clearly bears witness to life itself: its unconditional value, its curious order of things, and the endless persistence with which life draws into itself everything it has brought into being.
The artist-created robots Anatoly and Miro live their lives not simply because their creators intended them to. In these hands are living beings — and therefore their machines, too, are alive. They admire, doubt, wonder, grieve, create, care, and accept care. They become extensions of the goodwill of their living creators.
So is it they who live among us, or we who live among them?
Armenia Engineering Week 2026 is organized by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) and the Engineering Association, with the support of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and Artificial Intelligence of the Republic of Armenia, PMI Science Research and Development Center Armenia, Emerson – National Instruments, and the EU4Innovation East project, funded by the European Union, co-funded by the French Government, and implemented by Expertise France.
