On October 3–4, 2025, CYLAND MediaArtLab will participate in Armenia Engineering Week — an annual forum showcasing Armenia’s latest achievements in engineering. The event is dedicated to advancing high-tech engineering and manufacturing in the country while opening these innovations to a wider public.
For the first time, audiences in Yerevan will encounter works from the Art :: Tech CYLAND program, featuring two robotic media installations based on a concept by artist Anna Frants. The projects were realized by two creative engineering teams: CYLAND MediaArtLab (led by Philipp Avetisov) and Engineering City (led by Andranik Meliksetyan). Each installation offers a unique mode of interaction: Different Robot reacts with movement to voice volume and spoken words, while Emotionally Aware Robot reads facial expressions and responds with expressive gestures. Together, they transform advanced robotics into a dynamic space of dialogue between human and machine.
Through the Art :: Tech initiative, CYLAND continues to pioneer new forms of collaboration between artists and engineers, reimagining how technologies can be applied, reimagined, or reinvented to create contemporary media art.
