The panel discussion focuses on the strategies of education process in the field of digital art, effective instruments of practical and theoretical learning, and multidisciplinary project based approach. What kind of training serves artists well during a time of immense cultural and technological change? What are the challenges and advantages of Artists in Labs Transdisciplinary Collaborations? How can we innovate or improve academic pedagogical structures to facilitate interdisciplinary approaches and collaboration? What opportunities does the integration open and what issues are raised? What can we learn from that experience and “adopt” in traditional form of education? What are challenges for guidelines for evaluating digital projects?
PANELISTS
Alan Boldon (UK) is the Founder and Director of Weave (weaveglobal.org), and the Managing Director of Dartington Trust (Dartington.org). As an artist he has exhibited throughout Europe, USA, Canada and SE Asia. He has given keynote addresses all over the world and advised towns, cities, NGOs and Universities in many countries. His main areas of interest are the arts, leadership, learning innovation and placemaking.
Silvia Burini (Italy) — associate Professor, Director of the Centre of Studies of Russian Art (CSAR) at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, curator, international Researcher of Russian and Contemporary Art, Public Figure
Nina Czegledy (Canada) — artist, curator, educator, works internationally on collaborative art, science and technology projects. Adjunct Professor in Ontario College of Art and Design University, KMDI Senior Fellow at the University of Toronto, member of the Governing Board of the Leonardo International Society for Arts, Sciences and Technology and many other organizations.
Natalia Kolodzei (USA) — executive Director Kolodzei Art Foundation, art historian, curator and collector.
Sophia Kudriavtseva (Russia) — art historian, curator, head of the State Hermitage Youth Educational Center.
Gediminas Urbonas (USA/Lithuania) — associate Professor at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Program in Art, Culture and Technology, artist, educator, and co-founder (with Nomeda Urbonas) of the Urbonas Studio.
